  • Pastor

    Mike Vandermeir is the Pastor of Community Baptist.  He has a passion for teaching and preaching, and encouraging people in the church to use their gifts for God.  He earned a degree in Theology and continues to be a lifelong learner.  


    As a bi-vocational minister, he works in facilities and construction management professionally in a senior management role.  He is also veteran of the USMC Infantry and was deployed during 2004-05.  He enjoys sports, comedy, history, his pickup truck, food of all kinds and coffee. Mike is 41 years old, happily married to Tammie since 2002 and together they have been blessed with 5 children with the oldest 2 already in college.

    Tim Payne is the church music worship leader. Tim and his wife Emily live in Buffalo Grove with their three children Gwen, Lydia, and Sammy. Tim has been involved in church music ministries since he was in children’s choir and has a passion for powerful, Christ-centered music. His musical influences range from classical to contemporary. On any given Sunday, we are likely to worship the LORD with both classic hymns of the faith as well as fresh, new spiritual songs.
